Abridged ideas

-

Politicians are ready to begin discussions over a potential bridge between Scotland and Northern Ireland amid claims the move could create a “Celtic powerhouse”.

Ridiculous idea. Not needed, not wanted and not happening!

Reality Demands To Be Heard

“We share a lot of history together, similar ideals,” says Alan Dunlop. We share a lot of history with the United States and Canada too, so perhaps Alan Dunlop can fill us in with details of his plans for a bridge across the Atlantic.

I think this a very interesting idea. What is needed NOW is better communications between central Scotland and the point where the link will start, which I assume will be around Stranraer.

Have I missed something,

is there a problem with the ferry from Cairnryan? How about those who want to cross between Scotland and Northern Ireland pay for their ferry tickets, instead of everyone paying for a bridge costing £20 billion, or whatever the final figure ends up being?

Talking about the Brigadoon Crossing must be a nice way to while away a few hours on a snowy afternoon when there is no pressing business to attend to.

Old Clothes and Porridge

We pay good money for these people? Why not discuss the pressing problems the country has rather than discussing airy fairy ideas. If we cannot afford to have snowploughs and gritters for emergency use, how could we afford a 12-mile long bridge? Which could be shut half the time for lack of said gritters etc.

Great, £15-20bn for the

Why do our representatives discuss what is important to the people of Scotland. For example: the state of the National Health Service; the state of education; the state of Police Scotland; the state of housing needs in Scotland; the state of our social work and social welfare. These few subjects should keep them going until 2030... and even then they would get it all wrong. £15billion on a bridge. With the muppets at Holyrood that would probably triple.
