EXHIBITOR FOCUS: EDINBURGH PATCHWORK

-

Edinburgh Patchwork is a traditional patchwork and quilting shop in Bellevue Street, Edinburgh, with a bright spacious workshop for classes and projects.

The shop opened three and a half years ago, and is owned and managed by Alison Buckle and her husband Gerald. Alison has made patchwork quilts for over 20 years, and is keen to offer a haven where quilters can find the fabric and haberdashery that they need plus help and advice.

Alison arranges classes and workshops covering the key techniques involved in patchwork and quilting – catering for beginners to experts. The tutors include local practitioners and Scottish national experts.

Edinburgh Patchwork also have regular groups meeting on Wednesday mornings, Thursday mornings and Friday afternoons where quilters can work on their own projects whilst enjoying great company and tea and biscuits.

The shop has a wide range of 100 per cent cotton fabric and stocks a number of UK designers as well as Moda, Kaffe Fassett, and Robert Kaufman. They also have Aurifil thread as well as lots of other quilting haberdashery and tools, kits and patterns, plus packs of paper pieces.

There’s a mail order service available to quilters living outside Edinburgh. Tel: 0131-538 5030, www. edinburghpatchwork.com
