Up to 980 jobs are being axed at embattled retailer New Look under proposals to shut 60 stores and slash rent on nearly 400 shops as part of a rescue plan. @d_christianrose said: “The major problem is that #newlook hasn’t been selling good ‘new looks’ for years. @ASOS et al keeping up with modern trends, nothing to do with #brexit. That’s like @Jamiesitalianuk blaming closures on Brexit instead of the overpriced, average food” @zoewoodguardian said: “Gobsmacked by some New Look closures as includes some recently prime sites and menswear standalones. What were previous management thinking?”

Music bible NME is to halt publication in print after 66 years after its owners admitted it was “no longer financially viable”. @jontaylor91 joked: “RIP those days of buying it every week and then disagreeing with almost every word! ” @robertmsmith added: “Let’s be honest, NME has been crap for about 4 years now. Surprised they lasted this long since turning into a free magazine. Should’ve stuck to their indie roots and not had Bieber and Rihanna on the cover.” @Magic_kitten stated: “NME made a big impact on my teens and early twenties, introducing me to a more weird and wonderful world of possibilities.” @samrowlandss tweeted: “I am sad for NME, and I’m sad for everyone involved that is out of jobs but it’s not like we didn’t see this coming. I think people should be embracing the internet and it’s clever of NME to do so.”

Go well boys” @stuartrmartin stated: “What a game this is set up to be. Congrats to @Blair_ Kinghorn on a well-earned first Scotland start.” @coachpeterlang said: “A few surprises, but what a bench! I guess people can stop complaining Scotland lack talent in depth”
