Morton No new hero
Jim Duffy’s men faced Celtic in the Scottish Cup on Saturday at Parkhead, where the Ton hadn’t tasted victory since 2013. On that occasion, Dougie Imrie netted an extra-time winner and cemented his place as a hero among the Greenock faithful.
Unfortunately no new hero emerged this time, despite a spirited display by the Championship outfit. After a positive opening 45 minutes with the visitors frustrating Brendan Rodgers’ men, the Northern Irishman was forced into a halftime substitution.
The introduction of Edouard – and a suspicious penalty where the foul appeared to take place outside the box – proved too much for the Ton, who battled bravely in a 3-0 defeat.
