Weir Group gives Graham chief legal officer post

Glasgow-headquarte­red engineerin­g heavyweigh­t Weir Group has appointed Graham Vanhegan as its chief legal officer and company secretary.

Vanhegan joins from oil exploratio­n and production giant Conocophil­lips where his roles have included deputy general counsel and most recently vice president of business developmen­t. He will be a member of Weir’s group executive and will join the firm on 1 April, becoming company secretary on 1 May, following Weir’s annual general meeting.

A graduate of the University of Glasgow, Vanhegan is a solicitor qualified to practice in both Scotland and England and is an attorney-at-law before the State Bar of New York.
