World at her feet /Weir on FIFPRO shortlist

Liverpool and Scotland midfielder Caroline Weir has narrowly missed out on being included in a Women’s World XI.

The Dunfermline-born 22-year-old was among 55 female players shortlisted following a poll by FIFPRO, the organisation which represents professionall footballers around the globe.

More than 4,100 female footballers worldwide cast their votes when asked to nominate one goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three attackers.

Weir, who has won 48 caps, was the only Scottish player to be shortlisted.
