Scotland into world final

-

Scotland’s men will face Canada today in the final of the World Junior Curling Championships in Aberdeen after beating Switzerland 5-4 in their semi-final.

Ross Whyte’s rink scored three in the second end, then stayed ahead until the Swiss levelled the score at 4-4 in the ninth end with a nose-hit by skip Jan Hess to count two.

But Whyte kept his nerve in the tenth end to draw the final stone on to the button.

Canada beat the USA 5-8 in the other semi-final.

Whyte said: “I can’t really believe it right now, it’s still not clicked in. We’ve just had a really good week so far and we just hope to continue it into the final. We’re just taking it game by game and we’re just happy that we’re in that medal game.”
