‘Urban beach’ plan for city waterfront
An “urban beach” would be built on Dundee’s waterfront under plans aimed at driving forward a major regeneration project within the city.
Optimised Environments have drawn up proposals for a new area of parkland which will include water features and a beach area.
Designers said Waterfront Place would become an area of landscaped public realm sitting alongside the new V&A design museum and Slessor Gardens.
Also planned is a steelclad cafe pavilion which will be situated among grassy mounds to create a sense of place.
