Tease wins best in show at Crufts

- By ANGUS HOWARTH

A dog from Dalkeith in Midlothian was last night crowned best in show at Crufts 2018.

Tease the whippet bitch took the hound group title on Friday before being named winner in the main event.

The animal belongs to Yvette Short, who also owns W&J Short Garage in Dalkeith.

However, there was a security scare as a man appeared to run on to the arena while Tease’s triumph was being announced on live television.

Ms Short could be seen clutching her champion dog as the commotion unfolded, with security guards appearing to run down the intruder at the NEC Birmingham.

Crufts organisers the Kennel Club said that they could not confirm if it was a protest of some kind and added that they were “looking into the incident”.
