Luxury chain of cinemas to premiere in Scotland

0 The operator already has 22 sites in England, including York, Bristol and several across London An independen­t boutique cinema operator with a portfolio of more than 20 sites south of the Border has announced its Scottish debut with a new site in Glasgow.

Everyman Cinemas is set to open the facility in Princes Square this autumn after signing a 30-year lease on a unit of 10,000 square feet.

It will occupy the large site previously home to Dwell in the centre’s courtyard next to restaurant­s D’arcy’s, Il Pavone and Pizza Express. Additional­ly, it will have three auditori- ums, seating 95, 74 and 36 customers respective­ly.

Crispin Lilly, chief executive of Everyman Cinemas, said: “We are looking forward to delivering something special for the community.”

Andrew Foulds, portfolio director for Princes Square owner Redevco, said the cinema operator’s decision to choose the centre for its first location in Scotland is “very exciting and will add a new leisure dimension to complement our premium retail and restaurant mix”.
