Man sectioned over Tube attack

A paranoid schizophrenic from Edinburgh who admitted pushing a commuter into the path of an oncoming Tube train said he was “crazy and stupid” shortly after the nearfatal shove.

Alan Alencar was said to have had a wide-eyed expression as he stood in Bayswater Underground Station after shoving Alain Lesjongard on 2 November, 2017. The Old Bailey heard that it was luck the victim was not killed. Judge Sarah Munro imposed a section 37 hospital order and a section 41 restriction order.
