Frustrating no-show

Motherwell continued a frustratingly predictable pattern with a dismal defeat at Hamilton on Saturday – a heroic effort in the cup being followed by a no-show in the league. Such losses are hard to take, but they serve as a reminder of where we are as a team and the extent of our achievements. Our fantastic cup wins and midtable spot have not been earned by silky football, but sheer willpower and battling; sensational efforts are sensational by definition because you cannot produce them every week.

We now have a few days of recovery before a tremendously difficult run of fixtures to the split. Even a single win would probably be satisfactory – and ensure we are not too low in confidence before the cup semi-final.
