Pavement parking might be inconsiderate, but it’s not illegal. So what would be the point of puncturing folks’ tyres? All it would mean is their car/van/truck will be there for longer!

Kevin Hill I’m sure Kwik Fit and other garages would just love these all over the place.

Francis Ferguson So a child can jump on it, drivers are obliged to burst their tyres to let emergency vehicles pass, larger dogs may puncture their foot pads, which don’t heal easily, pushchair wheels may get damaged, someone may trip and land on one and activate it to their accidental injury, a blind person may trip on one... But this is obviously a better idea than just fining people or issuing parking tickets because with burst tyres the car will have to stay there until it can be fixed or picked up, causing an obstruction for longer. So only a few flaws in his invention,

F’ona H’unter Oh no, an ambulance is coming, I’d better get out of the way” ‘BANG!.

Jeff Turner Crazy. Some streets are so narrow pavement parking is necessary to make room for traffic to pass. Surely [damaging] car tyres is illegal and dangerous. Also, emergency workers could be late for essential service.

Fiona Mollison Just clamp all the cars then they’ll soon stop doing it when they have to pay a fortune to get their car back.

Heather Henderson Out comes another poll which reinforces the fact that the majority of Scots are sick and tired of the SNP and their cult followers braying about another Indyref.

Lemonpiper GB John Curtice told it like it was yesterday. In short, Brexit will not force Indy. Scotland is not in favour of another referendum.

Old clothes and porridge The only thing standing in the way of Scotland being independent is the people of Scotland. The only thing stopping the people of Scotland voting for independence is the huge tax hikes and slashed public services that would have to happen and we struggle to keep ourselves from bankruptcy.

I know you know Polls on 1000+ are not necessarily a true reflection of facts, normally, however, like it or not, this poll is a reflection of the deep uncertainty felt by the majority of Scots that Independence would be the worst thing to happen under
