Lower take-up of budget funerals

Funeral firm Dignity revealed lower-thanexpected take-up for its “no frills” option despite slashing prices.

But the group stressed that despite a “step change” in the number of budget funerals chosen since it lowered prices in January, these only account for 15 per cent of all funerals. Underlying pre-tax profits rose 3 per cent to £77.8 million.
