St Mirren No one-man team
As Cher once (sort of) sang, “Do you believe in life after Lewis Morgan?” The St Mirren players certainly believed on Saturday. With our talismanic winger struck down by tonsillitis, we had a chance not only to go 11 points clear at the top – due to Dundee United and Livingston’s games being called off – but to also prove we weren’t the one-man team many have dubbed us.
Even with the score at 0-0 against Dunfermline at half-time, the belief amongst the fans was it was a matter of when rather than if. A Harry Davis penalty and Liam Smith screamer within two minutes of each other put the game beyond doubt and Saints showed the grit, determination and character that will get us over the finish line and see us end the season as champions.
