Two men badly injured in gang attacks

Two men needed hospital treatment after being seriously assaulted by a gang in South Lanarkshir­e.

The first attack happened in Tiree Way, Cambuslang, when a 40-year-old man was assaulted by a group of men at 7:30pm on Sunday.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Hairmyres Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries before being released.

In a separate, unrelated, attack later on Sunday, a 32-year-old was walking on a footpath at Ross Place, Rutherglen, at 9:45pm when he was approached by a group of men who attacked him.
