- By LAURA PATERSON

An MP has criticised the UK government for its response over missing Inverness man Liam Colgan.

Drew Hendry called for ministers to be sent to the House of Commons to explain why they have failed to respond for three weeks on questions over Mr Colgan’s disappearance.

He was last seen in the early hours of 10 February.

The Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey MP said: “Three weeks ago today I raised the urgent case of Liam Colgan, the Inverness man who had gone missing in Hamburg.

“Despite taking the Leader of the House’s advice and writing to Ministers, three weeks later I have not had a response, despite having chased and 0 Liam Colgan went missing in Hamburg on 10 February chased, due to ‘clearance and awaiting signature’. The family is in trauma. Shouldn’t Ministers come to the House and explain this lack urgency?”

Leader of the House Andrea Leadsom said she was “sorry to hear that”. She said she would put pressure on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for a response.
