Richard III
After a fine opening production of David Harrower’s Knives In Hens, Perth Theatre’s first spring season in its refurbished home gathers pace with a full-scale production of Shakespeare’s Richard III ,the most sensational, villainous and murderous political thriller in the Shakespeare canon. The house of York has scored a famous victory; but younger son Richard, the hunchback of the family, is still full of ruthless ambition. Joseph Arkley stars as Richard, and wonderful Scottish stage star Alison Peebles as the old Duchess of York, in what promises to be “a colourful roller-coaster” of a production, directed by Perth’s artistic director, Lu Kemp.
