Blair: ‘We need a revolution in schools’
Tony Blair has said he would adopt an “even more revolutionary approach” to education if he was prime minister today.
Speaking at the Global Education and Skills Forum, the former Labour leader said countries around the world must elevate the quality of teaching provided to the next generation.
Mr Blair called on policymakers to work with innovators and embrace new technology in the classroom.
He also recalled the ordeal of doing Prime Minister’s Questions, saying: “It was hell to do, I can tell you that.
“Even today now, on a Wednesday at midday, I’ll get a chill at the back of my neck remembering it.”
Mr Blair added: “You remember the few triumphs and the many humiliations as if they were yesterday.”
