Refugees face death, MPS warn

Thousands of Rohingya refugees face death in the coming monsoon season unless the UK government and international agencies take urgent action, MPS have warned.

The Rohingya have been forced to flee Burma in the face of military oppression with hundreds of thousands finding refuge in neighbouring Bangladesh.

But MPS on the international development committee warned refugees in the Cox’s Bazar area were at risk from heavy rains, tropical storms and landslides.
