Press Awards nomination­s for Scotsman

The Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday and Edinburgh Evening News have received ten nomination­s in the annual Scottish Press Awards.

A string of exclusive stories highlighti­ng the challenges in Scottish schools sees The Scotsman nominated in the Journalism Team of the Year category. The Scotsman and

the Evening News are also both nominated for the Front Page of the Year.

Janet Christie is on the shortlist for Interviewe­r of the Year, while Scotland on Sunday’s Dani Garavelli gains nomination­s for Columnist of the Year and for the new Nicola Barry Award which aims to celebrate campaignin­g women journalist­s.

The Scotsman’s David Walsh also makes the shortlist for Columnist of the Year.

James Delaney, who writes across the titles, has been nominated in the Young Journalist of the Year category for a series of exclusives in the Edinburgh Evening News.

Sports journalist Craig Fowler is recognised in the Outstandin­g Digital Journalist of the Year category, while Aidan Smith is nominated as Sports Feature Writer of the Year.

The awards ceremony will be held on 26 April in Glasgow.
