Scottish Grand National day big draw for punters

- By IAIN FERGUSON

Club badges for the Coral Scottish Grand National Saturday at Ayr Racecourse have sold out more than four weeks before the event on Saturday 21 April.

It is the fourth successive year the Club “sold-out” signs have gone up and the Saturday was a complete sell-out in all areas in both 2016 and 2017.

The remaining Grandstand tickets are selling fast and racecourse officials recommend those wanting to purchase these tickets do so as soon as possible.

Tickets are also available for the opening day of the two day Festival – Ladies Day on Friday 20 April, which is one of the most glamorous days of the year at the track.

Ayr Racecourse Managing Director David Brown said: “Each year the club tickets sell out earlier than the year before and it shows just how popular this day is and to not have a club ticket left more than four weeks out is a tremendous achievement.”

Prize money at the Coral Scottish Grand National Festival this year is more than £714,000 and most of the leading jockeys and trainers in the UK and Ireland will be participating.
