Struggling Bees tell Mcghee to buzz off

- By JAMES LITTLE

Former Aberdeen and Motherwell manager Mark Mcghee is out of work again after losing his post as “head of technical” at Barnet.

Mcghee was appointed manager in November but was then moved upstairs when Graham Westley replaced him in the dugout in January.

Now, both Westley and Mcghee have been sacked with Barnet bottom of League Two – seven points from safety with only eight games remaining.

Mark Allen has been appointed as their new manager. It is the fifth time Allen has been in charge of the Bees.

Barnet said in a statement: “The club would like to encourage every Bees fan out there to get behind Martin and the team for our crucial eight-game run-in and for us all to pull together as we look to maintain our league status. Barnet can also confirm the departure of head coach Graham Westley and head of technical Mark Mcghee with immediate effect.” It has not been a great 12 months or so for Mcghee, pictured. He was also sacked by Motherwell back in February 2017 and lost his job as Scotland’s assistant manager when Gordon Strachan’s contract wasn’t renewed.
