Bollan looks to turn heat on rivals in survival fight

- By CRAIG P STEWART

Cowdenbeath manager Gary Bollan reckons that a win at Stenhousemuir tonight will start alarm bells ringing at secondbottom Berwick Rangers.

The Fifers, who sit 12 points adrift at the foot of the table, secured their first win since August by seeing off Elgin 3-1 on Saturday.

Bollan said: “We are by no means getting carried away but we have to look at every game being winnable from now on. If we win again some people may start getting nervous.”

Stenhousemuir manager Brown Ferguson is unleashing frustrated Warriors against the Blue Brazil as he explained: “We secured a terrific win at Peterhead last Tuesday and everyone was buoyant afterwards. Our next game could not come quick enough so it was frustrating when Berwick was called off on Saturday.

“We will now look to build on that performance against Cowdenbeath.”

Elgin boss Gavin Price knows his side have to beat Stirling Albion to boost their play-off hopes as he said: “We are entering last chance territory, however a win keeps us in touch.” Stirling Albion manager Dave Mackay, pictured, is concentrating only on securing a play-off place as opposed to putting pressure on leaders Montrose.

He said: “We want to book our play-off place first and foremost. Anything more than that is a bonus.”

Edinburgh City manager James Mcdonagh ishis side to keep moving forward by defeating Clyde at Ainslie Park.

Mcdonagh said: “We were a goal away from going bottom at Christmas so our turnaround has been terrific. We will look to keep that going against Clyde.”

The end of the season is approaching too fast for Bully Wee manager Danny Lennon who said: “I would rather have just played eight games as opposed to having eight to play. There is a gap to fourth place and we will do what we can to close it.”
