Police appeal after woman found near canal

A woman found dead beside a Glasgow canal has been named by police as officers try to trace her final movements.

The death of Alison Mcallister, 56, is being treated as unexplained after she was discovered at the Forth and Clyde Canal, near to Cleveden Road, Maryhill, at about 1:30pm on Tuesday.

She was last seen at about 5:20pm on Monday near Asda in the Summerston area of Glasgow. Police said she got into her blue Vauxhall Mokka car and drove off.

The car was found in Collina Street.
