Not even St Mirren could mess this up now. The highlight of the season – aside from whichever day we mathematically win the league – shall surely now be Greenock Morton applauding us on to the pitch on the day we get the trophy on our last home game of the season. The bookies are as optimistic as I am, and Saints are now 1/100 to win the title.

Saturday’s game was a complete return to our finest form, inspired by a red-hot Lewis Morgan who was back to his brilliant best. To look back on where we were a year ago – with so many must-win games in the run-in to save us from dropping to the third tier of Scottish Football – I must say, I prefer being at this end of the table. In Jack Ross we trust.
