Man, 27, arrested and charged over robberies

A 27-year-old man has been charged in connection with the robbery from a woman, 74, and two other thefts.

The woman was robbed in Springvale Place, Saltcoats, on 15 March, officers at Police Scotland said.

The other robberies took place in Fullarton Street, Irvine, on 7 March and South Beach Road, Ardrossan, on 14 March.

The accused was due to appear before Kilmarnock Sheriff Court yesterday.
