Pensioner critical after attack in city centre street

A man has been charged in connection with the serious assault of a 77-yearold man in Glasgow’s city centre.

The attack took place on Bath Street, close to Wellington Street, about 9:45pm on Friday.

The victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he is being treated for a serious head injury.

His condition has been described as critical.

Police said a 26-yearold has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear before Glasgow Sheriff Court today.
