Channel4move

It is surely beyond doubt that most Scots would welcome the prospect of Channel 4 moving its headquarters to Glasgow, with 300 jobs relocating.

With the SNP relentlessly agitating for indyref2, it’s therefore regrettable that Nicola Sturgeon dismisses the risk independence poses to the TV station relocating here with a glib wisecrack “that we’ll still watch television in an independent Scotland”.

Are French national TV stations headquartered in, say, Belgium or Irish national broadcasters in London rather than Dublin?

With Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester and Cardiff launching strong bids, does Ms Sturgeon seriously believe a United Kingdom national broadcaster would headquarter in a foreign country?
