SNP and IT

-

The First Minister has declared herself to be “disturbed’’ about the activities of Cambridge Analytica and its alleged gathering of Facebook user accounts information to influence elections.

But wait a second. The SNP’S electoral success in 2011 has been attributed in great part to their mastery of information technology and in particular their use of new software called Nationbuilder which, as in the case of Cambridge Analytica, used social media to harvest details of every voter in Scotland.

Of course, since then similar software has been adopted and used by almost every other political party, but the SNP were once proud of their prowess as pioneers. No more.

Again, as with so many matter concerning the SNP, there is a stench of hypocrisy. ALEXANDER MCKAY New Cut Rigg, Edinburgh
