Direct Travel hits high note with SCO tour work
0 The concerts are being held in Cologne, Amsterdam, San Sebastian and Budapest this May Thescottishchamberorchestra (SCO) has commissioned Direct Travel to support its European concert tour this spring.
The team at the travel company’s Edinburgh office will manage all of the group’s travel requirements for the tour, workingcloselywiththesco’s concerts manager Tammo Schuelke.
The internationally celebrated orchestra will be joined by Polish pianist Piotr Anderszewski in a series of performances, which will include two Mozart piano concertos. The concerts are being held in Cologne, Amsterdam, San Sebastian and Budapest between 16 and 22 May.
The performances form part of a promotional tour for Aderszewski, who has a long-established relationship with the SCO and has recently released a new album on Warner Classics. The orchestra’s leader, Stephanie Gonley, will direct the remainder of the programme, Sinfonietta, by French composer Poulenc, from the violin.
