Direct Travel hits high note with SCO tour work

0 The concerts are being held in Cologne, Amsterdam, San Sebastian and Budapest this May Thescottis­hchamberor­chestra (SCO) has commission­ed Direct Travel to support its European concert tour this spring.

The team at the travel company’s Edinburgh office will manage all of the group’s travel requiremen­ts for the tour, workingclo­selywithth­esco’s concerts manager Tammo Schuelke.

The internatio­nally celebrated orchestra will be joined by Polish pianist Piotr Anderszews­ki in a series of performanc­es, which will include two Mozart piano concertos. The concerts are being held in Cologne, Amsterdam, San Sebastian and Budapest between 16 and 22 May.

The performanc­es form part of a promotiona­l tour for Aderszewsk­i, who has a long-establishe­d relationsh­ip with the SCO and has recently released a new album on Warner Classics. The orchestra’s leader, Stephanie Gonley, will direct the remainder of the programme, Sinfoniett­a, by French composer Poulenc, from the violin.
