£20m hotel scheme to create 300 jobs

Around 300 new jobs are to be created in a £20 million project after two new hotels won approval in Tayside.

The scheme will see the B-listed Wilson House in Dundee demolished and replaced with two separate hotels and a licensed restaurant.

Developer St House Group (SHG) agreed to retain the 1930s art deco facade of the former Robertson’s House Furnishers warehouse. It will be converted into a 115-room, three-star hotel. Craig Inglis, chief executive of SHG, said the plans would provide an economic boost.
