Poor account
I have been a member of the Clydesdale Bank since an account was opened for me at a branch in Newington when I was born in 1938. I am therefore very disappointed to hear that my present branch in Davidson’s Mains is closing in June with the loss (redundancies) of several members of staff. A different company’s bank in the Davidson’s Mains area has already closed and will probably be turned into an eatery of some sort. It is a sad reflection on today that these former local institutions of banks and post offices are now regarded as superfluous. MIKE MCKINNELL
