Is the SNP determined to ensure Scotland is perceived as a less attractive place to invest than elsewhere in the UK? We now learn that 22,000 medium-sized and larger commercial and industrial premises, including over 5,000 retailers, will have paid nearly £190 million more in business tax by the end of next fiscal year than if they had been based down south.

Perhaps Nicola Sturgeon should go the whole hog and erect a sign at the Scottish border stating: “Enthusiastic business entrepreneurs unwelcome – turn back here.”
