Falkirk firm snaps up key building site in Livingston

- By SCOTT REID

Property developer Bellair Scotland has acquired a development site in the centre of Livingston which it has earmarked for a “variety of commercial and residential uses”.

The Falkirk-based company has taken ownership of Pentland House in Almondvale Road from fund manager Kennedy Wilson in an off-market transaction for an undisclosed sum. The deal sees Bellair also acquire the site’s heritable title from West Lothian Council.

Pentland House currently extends to just over 59,000 square feet over five floors and is situated alongside the town’s main shopping centre and designer outlet.

Bellair has obtained consent to demolish the property in order to “take advantage of the site’s central location”, with demolition works commencing next month.

Director Colin Campbell said: “The property is strategically positioned… so provides us with an excellent location for redevelopment. We look forward to putting in place our redevelopment plans.”
