St Johnstone Folly of fan ownership

Last Saturday I watched ex-saints Peaso Macdonald and Kevin Moon and on-loan Saints youth player Danny Jardine strut their stuff for Stirling Albion at Forthbank. The first two showed glimpses of the ability Saints supporters enjoyed watching and young Danny scored Stirling’s first in a 2-2 draw with Cowdenbeath.

Stirling’s management team of Dave Mackay and Frazer Wright looked more comfortable playing for Saints than watching the Binos make life difficult for themselves.

A “Time for change” banner was paraded at half-time. The club being run as a supporters trust no longer seems to be to what some fans want. I am not surprised. Such a model has little chance of lasting – so fickle are supporters.
