Let’s not turn this into a refugee sob story. He doesn’t have the right documents to travel. I wouldn’t get to go to Majorca without a passport either.

Vicky Featherstonehaugh Tell all that to a wee boy and his classmates. What do they know of all of this? They are children. They want to go. All of them.

Lydia Reid Although I’m sympathetic that the boy won’t make the trip rules are rules so fast tracking his application isn’t fair for the people going through the appropriate channels to get their paperwork. Pathetic decision by the Home Office.

Linda Martin That’s a shame! He can’t help it. Of course he should go.

Liz Workman Sad, but isnt it the rules regardless off nationality to not book a holiday until you have a valid passport or at least give six weeks or more before travelling for a first passport. Yes, it was a school competion but the school and the company should have been aware of the rules.

Margot Hadden What a shame, hopefully he gets to go.

Linzii Forrest Hope he is able to go with his friends. No wonder there was confusion, the whole system is as clear as mud.
