Dog walker left badly injured by group of men

A dog walker has been seriously injured after an attack by a group of men.

The 36-year-old man was walking through a wood near Whistleber­ry Road and Abbostford Avenue in Hamilton when he was attacked by five men at around 11:30am on Sunday. He was taken to Hairmyres Hospital where he was treated for serious facial and head injuries.

Police are appealing for any informatio­n that will help catch those responsibl­e. PC Graeme Stoddart said: “This attack has left a man not only with serious injuries, but also badly shaken.”
