Fuel of good intentions: Locals to benefit from new community pumps

-

Norman Purves fills up the tanks of his vintage Austin in Newcastleton in the Scottish Borders as fuel pumps returned to the village after a ten-year absence.

The last pumps stopped flowing a decade ago, forcing residents to take at 40-mile round trip to either Hawick or Longtown to fill up their tanks.

The move is part of a community action project that will raise fund for local causes.
