Vote for same
Chris Mccall writes about electronic voting, and how this would bring elections up to date (Future Scotland, 30 March). However, there may be pitfalls; voting machines in polling stations may be a runner, as they are used in some US states, with no obvious drawbacks, but I fear online voting – there are too many anecdotal examples of computer hacking and fraud; this could be a minefield!
One other point; our current system is 100 years old; if it is 100 years old, might that not be because it works, and if so, why change it?
