David Claerbout
The substantial exhibition by Belgian film and video artist David Claerbout at the Talbot Rice Gallery in Edinburgh includes evocative and beautifully made works which ask questions about the medium of film. It’s also a perfect context in which to see Rachel Maclean’s film, Spite Your Face, which represented Scotland at last year’s Venice Biennale. A dark and twisted fairytale with a moral and political punch, it looks splendid installed in Talbot Rice’s Georgian gallery. Talbot Rice Gallery, Edinburgh, until 5 May, 0131-650 2210
