Tokio Myers
The Royal College of Music-trained pianist Tokio Myers was an unusual choice of Britain’s Got Talent winner, given the usual diet of massed choirs, dancing dogs, popera singers and variety show hopefuls which the programme attracts, and he has wasted no time in carving a credible career for his crossover blend of classical, pop, R&B and electronica repertoire, using synths and samples to layer up the sound, and drawing on his touring experience as keyboard player in the Kanye West-approved band Mr Hudson and the Library.
