City car thief caught via social media posts

A thief who tried to flog stolen items on Facebook only to be caught when he attempted to sell the gear through a page his victim was a member of has been jailed.

Steven Hutton, 37, of Yarrow Terrace, Dundee, was handed a 19-month sentence after being caught selling goods on the Facebay Dundee site. Dundee Sheriff Court was told Hutton took items from cars parked then tried to sell some of them on the site.
