Toshiba chief promises change

Toshiba’s new chief executive is promising to turn around the company in five years by reshaping operations and boosting profitability.

“I feel that the organisation is determined to change,” Nobuaki Kurumatani said yesterday at Toshiba’s Tokyo headquarters. Kurumatani acknowledged the system of governance and risk management at the company had been weak.
