Lidl Scottish ‘favourites’ event gives £1.5m boost

0 The retailer is to celebrate ‘Scottish favourites’ by offering a selection of about 80 products Supermarke­t chain Lidl is serving up a £1.5 million boost to Scottish food and drink suppliers through a new promotion.

The German-owned retailer is to celebrate “Scottish favourites” by offering a selection of about 80 products for its customers, with projected sales worth a combined £1.5m.

Spread across 95 stores in Scotland, the promotion will feature a variety of new products for Lidl including Graham’s The Family Dairy Skyr and Protein 22, Williams Brothers’ Joker IPA and Caesar Augustus beers, Thistly Cross Original Cider, Mackie’s Toffee Popcorn and Downie’s Cullen Skink Soup.

Head of Lidl’s regional buying Scotland team, Paul Mcquade, said: “At Lidl we are committed to local sourcing, and already stock 300 Scottish products all year-round in stores across the country. Our Scottish Favourites Week is a great opportunit­y to offer our customers even more Scottish products at great prices for a limited time only.”
