Jump in Scottish tech start-ups

The number of new technology companies being set up in Scotland rose by 77 per cent last year, according to analysis by accountancy firm RSM.

The figures show that 440 software development and programming businesses were incorporated in Scotland in 2017 compared with 249 set up in 2016.

RSM said good access to finance and strong support networks were among the factors behind the rise.
