Stats Group targets Australia

Stats Group, the Aberdeensh­ire pipeline technology specialist, is targeting new opportunit­ies in Australia and Papua New Guinea after extending its relationsh­ip with Brisbane-headquarte­red OSD.

The move follows on from a similarage­ncyagreeme­ntcovering the New Zealand market which is said to have resulted in “positive results” for both companies and their clients.

Stats specialise­s in the provision of pipeline isolation, repair and integrity services, including the design, supply and provision of specialise­d test, interventi­on and isolation tools, to the global oil and gas industry.

The Scots company has successful­ly collaborat­ed with OSD on three pressurise­d pipeline isolation projects in New Zealand and plans to use this template to grow the two firms’ respective businesses in Australia.

Gareth Campbell, Stats Group regional sales manager for Asia Pacific, said: “The template we have establishe­d with OSD in New Zealand is working extremely well and we look forward to rolling this out to tap into the many opportunit­ies that Australia’s onshore, offshore and emerging LNG [liquefied natural gas] markets has to offer.”

Stats Group is headquarte­red in Kintore in Aberdeensh­ire and also operates from Kendal and Inverurie in the UK, Edmonton and Calgary in Canada, Houston in the US, Abu Dhabi and Qatar in the Middle East and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

OSD has offices in Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Darwin in Australia and New Plymouth in New Zealand.
