Networking event set to launch in Edinburgh

- By EMMA NEWLANDS

A new series of monthly networking events in Edinburgh is to get under way next month, featuring speakers from a wide variety of sectors.

Newbycore Consulting, led by founder and MD Scott Newby, is launching what it describes as a “new and fun” take on such events.

He said: “Setting up a business means I have spent a lot of time on the networking circuit in Edinburgh recently. Whilst the events are well-run and informative, I felt the fun factor was often missing. I am keen to not just run fun events with great speakers, but build a community.

“For me, networking is not about collecting business cards, it’s about building relationships and trust, and I’m keen to facilitate that for other like-minded people.”

The first event will be on Tuesday 1 May at Cabaret Voltaire, with guest speakers Gavin Neate, chief executive of Neatebox, and Iain Logan, group financial controller of Omega Diagnostics. Subsequent events will take place on the first Tuesday of the month.
