Effiong makes County exit as Dundee extend Spence stay
Ross County have released a second Owen Coyle signing in two days as they announced the departure of Inih Effiong.
Another of their former manager’s signings, Chris Eagles, left the Dingwall club on Wednesday.
Striker Effiong joined County for an undisclosed fee in January, however he only managed three appearances and did not find the net.
The 27-year-old Englishman’s last appearance came on 31 January against Aberdeen and he was not part of co-managers Stuart Kettlewell and Steven Ferguson’s squad in recent weeks.
A club statement read: “Ross County Football Club can confirm that Inih Effiong has left the club by mutual consent. We wish Inih all the best in his future career.” Meanwhile, Lewis Spence, pictured, has signed a contract extension with Dundee which will keep him at Dens Park until 2020, the Tayside club have announced.
The 22-year-old midfielder joined Dundee last summer on a one-year deal after leaving Dunfermline.
Spence has made 17 appearances for Neil Mccann’s side this season so far, the most recent coming in the goalless draw against Ladbrokes Premiership leaders Celtic at Parkhead on Wednesday night.
