What’s the last piece of clothing you bought?
An Eighties Ungaro couture jacket that I got from Found and Vision on London’s Golborne Road. It’s hammered glitter suede, with leather piping and huge ruched shoulders. It’s brilliant.
What are you addicted to buying?
Bikinis. Eres is my favourite brand.
Best ever bargain?
On a cost per wear basis, a trench coat from Marc Jacobs’s first Louis Vuitton collection. It’s ancient now but still going strong. With clothes, things that last are a much better bargain than things that are cheap.
Who has great style?
Designer Anna Valentine, whose atelier I visit regularly to drool at. Anna wears her own pieces and she always looks perfect.
Name your favourite high street shop.
Sports Direct.
Any fashion disasters you’d care to tell us about?
Innumerable. The lilac swing coat I wore to an interview at Vogue (I didn’t get that job). Brown velvet flares teamed with a wideweave Nicole Farhi jumper that I thought looked very Annie Hall. The Nineties.
What’s your favourite item in your wardrobe?
My ratty Levi’s dungarees and an ancient Borsalino panama. It’s what I wear all summer. n
